Default What kind of Displays do you own?

My good friend and Guild Wars guildmate had to upgrade/purchase a new computer system. He saw what my new one looked like, and figured it is time for a new one for himself. No biggie! We all do that, we see something new that someone else has and say to ourselves:" Hey...I need that too..."

Well my new system is nothing real special. Just more ram and a faster processor then my older system. It is not a Alienware or a super tweaked out box. It is fast, and it is NEW! So it runs faster just because the registry is cleaner. Not full of junk from many installs and such. I also wanted a new system so I could let my daughter have my older system. It is still pretty darn fast and she is real happy to get it.

Well my friend had to top me on his purchase. He really wanted the 24" LCD WideScreen Display that Dell had offered. With a Dimension 9100 the display is only $900.00. (The whole computer costs around $1900.00) That is a decent price for a 24" widescreen. I have had the same monitor for 5 years now. My old but trust worthy Dell P991 (Last of the TRUE Sony trinitrons). It is a 19" Flat screen CRT...A BEAST. It is like 70LBS.

What displays are other Guild Wars players using?

Oh..I should mention that my friends 24" widescreen display actually displays Guild Wars in Widescreen. I was stunned. I didn't know that any games are in Widescreen. Guild Wars in widescreen is the Bomb. you really see allot more, expecially @ 1900x1600 resolution.

Laptops are fine to play games on. My son's laptop is a couple of years old and is still a good entertainment device. What we did for him was to add a USB regular keyboard and a USB mouse. Then it is really no different then a PC.

I bought myself a 17" Samsung Syncmaster for a Lan party because I didn't want to lug a full sized monitor around, and I fell in love with the crisp display.

So much so, that when I got back home I shelled out for a 19" and now the 17" is on my "spare" pc
